If I have never said it I have for sure thought it....if I get behind on blogging it is a beating to get back on track and I put it off as long as I can. Well a whole month has passed and while I would love to give you a good reason for the absence in blogging I can only say, life is busy and I am a tired mama. So here is the quick version of what we have been up to for the last month with a few pictures thrown in to keep you from being bored.
Ben and I got a few days alone in Kansas City, that's right adult time on our schedules. It was FAB-U-LOUS and if I am being honest it went too quickly and I wasn't ready to be back with the kids. I got to eat when and what I wanted, got to see movies, visit old friends, sleep in until 8:30, and just be with my wonderful husband.
We took a 9 day trip to Oklahoma to see our families and to spend Thanksgiving with loved ones. It seems like no matter how long we are in Tulsa it is never long enough and there are plenty of people we would love to have more time with. Grandma loved having all of her babies together and of course my kiddos loved being at grandma and papa's house.
I got to reunite with 5 girlfriends from high school while we were in Tulsa, and we rekindled the tradition of "Friendsgiving". Before we had kids and moved away we would all get together every year the week of Thanksgiving for a fun and friendly time to just laugh and live. Well 12.5 kids later and miles between all of us it was so nice to once again come together and be with these girls, friends now for the past 17 years and counting.
Some other highlights of our month:
-Brynlee battled a case of hand, foot, and mouth disease...ugh what a beating that was.
-I realized that I have a serious addiction to sugar and can't get enough dessert and candy
-Ben did quite a bit of traveling for work, I think every week in the month
-I got a sinus infection that kicked my butt and I am still trying to deal with 2 weeks later.
-We got all the Christmas shopping done, the house decorated, Christmas cards ordered and we are ready for the holidays this year!
-Benjamin went to a number of friends' birthday parties and is having a blast in school.
-I got bigger and bigger in the pregnancy and I am now 100% convinced that we are having another girl. I guess we won't know if I am right though for about 11 more weeks.
-I was able to enjoy some girl time with my friend Crissy, a night out with my old lady friends, and a few breakfasts with my girlfriends sans the kids.
-Ben and I have spent a lot of time this month realizing how blessed and rich our lives are. Ben has a job he loves, we have healthy kids we adore, our finances are in check and savings is growing, we have a great house to raise our kids in, we have a church family we love and adore, we have a strong marriage, we have personal relationships with our Savior......life is good!
