Benjamin Turns 4

I can't believe that as of Wednesday October 19th I am the mommy to a growing 4 year old boy, 4 blows my mind. Benjamin was so excited that his birthday fell on a school day and that he could spend his special day with all of his friends, I love that he is such a school enthusiast. Daddy was out of town on the morning of his birthday but luckily the idea of taking rice crispy treats to school seemed to be the main focus of the morning madness. After school I took Benjamin to Dr. Jones for his check up not realizing that this particular check up was one of the hardest on the kids. I dreaded the appointment all day, knowing that he was going to get a number of shots and that they could make him feel lousy on his actual birthday was almost more than I could handle. I preped Jamin by telling him that he was going to get shots and yes while they were going to hurt he would get a sucker and that we could go to the park afterwards for some fun. It broke my heart to have to lay on top of him while Kelly gave him the shots in his thighs, he cried so hard but after about 10 minutes seemed to be doing better and was ready to waddle off to the park. The guy limped for 2 days though afterwards saying that his legs hurt and he was bruised on the thigh as well, note to self never schedule appointments on actual birthdays no matter how efficient you think you are.
Other than the park another saving grace was that daddy was coming home that afternoon and he got to open presents before dinner. Yea for saving the fun until the end of the day, takes the sting out of the mean old shots!

My big birthday boy with a new Rangers baseball hat(daddy got a matching one also) and a new Transformer that daddy picked out for his little buddy.

Everyone got in on the present fun, even our neighbor dogs who are roamers and like to poop in our yard and take things out of our garage and destroy them.

A new Cars 2 shirt from Grandma and Papa

Since it is the height of baseball season we decided to get Jamin a tball set for his birthday, he loves it! As you can tell he is pretty good at hitting the ball also, now if we can just work on running the bases in order.

Ben told me that every year he wants to get a picture of him and Jamin together so he can watch and see how much he physically changes over the years. I think really he is just wanting to gage and see how long he has before the son takes over the daddy.

Benjamin at 4 years is 41 pounds(50-75%) and 43 inches tall(95%).

Benjamin I love you so much, I am so thankful for the sensitive and smart young boy that you are growing into. You amaze me daily with your tenderhearted nature, how you remember the most minute details, and while I don't always like the rough way of a boys nature you are a dream son for your daddy. He loves being your buddy and thinks that you are the most fun to be around, you really are two peas in a pod and the way you love one another warms my heart.

Happy Birthday Benjamin!
